Ultimate Registration is Open for 2026
Be part of one of the fastest-growing team sports in Canada – Ultimate. This is a low-cost, accessible sport with a strong emphasis on sportsmanship and fair play. Ultimate Frisbee, often just called “Ultimate,” is a non-contact team sport played with a disc (frisbee). Think of it as a mix between football, soccer, and basketball.

Men’s Shed Facilitator(s) Needed
Men’s Shed is a group of men who get together in their community to develop new skills, discover new interests, and make new friends. But it’s so much more than that. For many men, aging and retirement can lead to loneliness and a loss of purpose; and that’s where Men’s Sheds come in. Symbolic of that backyard workshop where men share stories and tinker with woodworking or electronics, a Men’s Shed is grounded in the idea that men communicate more effectively when they’re “shoulder to shoulder” with other men.

Linden Woods Community Centre is hoping to start it’s very own Men’s Shed on Thursday afternoons (1pm to 3pm). However, to make it successful we are looking for 2-3 gentlemen in the community that are interested in being the facilitator for the group. If this is something that interested you, please reach out at manager@lindenwoodscc.com to discuss further.
Our Supporters
Join us this summer as Corydon, Lindenwoods, Riverview, and Whyte Ridge establish the first community centre-based recreational league in Winnipeg. We are partnering with the Manitoba Organization of Disc Sports (MODS) to deliver this program and invite you to visit their website to learn more about the game.
This program will be delivered in a co-ed model and targets kids from 11 to 14 years of age (born between 1/1/2012 and 12/31/2015). Commitment is one evening per week with game nights on Tuesdays (with practice scheduled before the game).
Date: Starting July 7, 2026 (8 week duration)
Location: At participating Community Centre fields
Cost: $65 (plus $15 membership fee paid directly to MODS)

The Community Garage Sale is on the first Saturday in June (June 6th)!

No need to register or anything formal- this is just the date that lots of people decide to coordinate on their annual garage sale!
