Did You Have A Yard Sale? (From June newsletter)
Hope you enjoyed the day, one way or another. However, if those shoppers didn’t barter for every item you had for sale, don’t forget to keep those leftover items going!! Find a place to re-purpose them, such as:
* Donate your furniture/household items that are in good shape to Oyate Tipi, Centre Flavie-Laurent, Value Village, or Bridge Of Hope Ukraine, to name a few. More are found at 211.ca.
* Clothing items ONLY, can be tossed into lime green bins at LWCC, but also donated to numerous organizations that will sell these items on consignment or fundraising.
* Nearly everything baby - www.youcantspoilababy.org ... They are providing essentials to those who have newborns, in need. Check out their list of items and drop spot locations...
* Medical supplies or suitcases to pack them in—either International Hope or Not Just Tourists may use this stuff.
* Building Supplies will be right at home at the Re-Store operated by Habitat.
* Metals, electronics, computers, TVs, etc.... check out Urbanmine on Kenaston.
* Local daycares would love donations of art supplies (ie) expired flour for Plaster of Paris, or salt or macaroni, ribbon, buttons, etc.
* The items the daycares don’t want (and while Arts Junktion is relocating) — contact info@bitsnbops.ca for all those questionable other things. Creative folks will accept many things that would make you wrinkle your brow.
