LWCC conducted a Community Survey early 2021...
UPDATE Oct 2021 - More to come:
Facilities: Check out the outdoor rinks this year.... replacing, painting of the boards and levelling of the posts has already transpired, with plans for more maintenance & renovations being worked on. Our Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) has a new west-facing window that has improved the lighting and open-feeling of that space. Improving the look and feel of LWCC outdoor spaces, as well as working with the city on the improvement of Kleysen Park and spray pad area, are both projects that are on their way. (Posted ~ IG - The city planted trees that, in years to come, will provide shade for the spray pad in Kleysen Park)
Programs: A new Girls 8-11 basketball program/clinic was already launched in late summer (Posted ~ LWs, Web, FB, IG & Twitter) Following the launch of this girls clinic, there has been excitement and huge interest in this program. Please reach out, if you are a volunteer coach that could bring a Boys basketball program to fruitition. A few more exciting new programs are upcoming in LWCC, that will be available to community members.
And of course, a popular event is back on the table. Which of the 50 tables, is up to you to determine... :) but we're welcoming back the LWCC craft sale with more than 50 vendors on Nov 7th! Mark your calendars (Posted ~ LWs, Web, FB, IG & Twitter)
Communications: You've asked for more from the newsletter! We are well on the way to provide more editions of the newsletter. This is made possible through more advertisers who are vying for your business, but who are also making our expenses more manageable. Additional newsletters will provide more timely information for your perusal, but our social media accounts are so much better at doing 'timely'.
Please consider following us on social media, based on the type/timing of information you want. We use Twitter/IG as a 1-2 times per week posts of current, upcoming & last minute info... then we use Facebook as a regular, more 'you have some time to plan or take action' type of information. All of these will often refer you to the website for your 'what I need to know' information that is upcoming or happened recently or is on-going.
UPDATE Summer 2021: Although Board members normally take a summer break, this year was a little different. With the survey results hot off the press, there has been some activity focused on creating committees to analyze and plan around the results. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out, using the form below. The committees created thus far are:
- Communications
- Facility Planning
- Programming
Spring 2021: LWCC Survey closed and we are excited to get at the data! Thank you to all who took the time to offer their assistance by way of volunteering and/or sharing their ideas!! Our respondents were generous with comments and ideas, and we will use them as tools to guide our short-term and long-term strategies, within our Community Centre mandate. This page is where we are posting the ideas and our commentary as our committees work through them!
